About the club and membership
Select a question to read the answer.
Where and when does the club meet?
We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7.00 pm at the Amora Riverwalk Hotel, Bridge Road, Richmond. Selected meetings in June, July and September are held via Zoom.
Can I come along before I join?
Yes. Come as a guest to one of our monthly dinners. Please contact us first so we can organise catering and share the meeting details.
How do I join?
Attend a few meetings or events to get a feel for our club. Our membership team will then guide you through the process.
What does membership cost?
Annual dues cover the club, district and Zonta International fees, and can vary with currency changes. For current membership fees email membership@zontamelbourneonyarra.org.au.
Who can join?
We actively welcome both cisgender and non-binary individuals, and publicly support initiatives like the UN Women’s HeForShe campaign to engage men as advocates for gender equality.
What projects does the club run?
Our service projects are birthing kits, breast care cushions and Pamper Packs, alongside our scholarships and awards and our advocacy work.
How can I donate?
By direct bank transfer. The account details and the reference code for each project are on the Donate page — please include a reference so we can credit your gift to the right project.
Are donations tax deductible?
No. The club does not have deductible gift recipient status, so donations are not tax deductible.
What is Zonta International?
Zonta International was founded on 8 November 1919 in Buffalo, New York. The name comes from a Sioux word meaning ‘honest and trustworthy’. Members in more than 60 countries work together to improve the lives of women and girls.
